Need Some Good News?

Who doesn't these days? Let's face it, the headlines can frighten us and circumstances can become a source of discouragement. But guess what?

God Has Some Good News to Share With You

What He wants to share with you is the good news of His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ and you can read all about it in the Bible...specifically 1 Corinthians 15:1-4. Why not take just a moment right now and consider what God wants to share with you?

Christ Died

To begin with He wants you to know that Jesus Christ, "died for our sins." Now that is extremely significant because it reveals that Jesus was not put to death for any wrong doing on His part. Rather he was put death for our wrong doing - our sins committed against God. Something we are all guilty of because the Bible states in Romans 3:23, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God."

It may not seem like a big deal, but God says in Romans 6:23 that all sin is extremely costly: "For the wages of sin is death."

Are you beginning to see how magnificent this news is? When Jesus Christ died, He paid a debt He did not owe. He actually paid your debt. You could say, Jesus Christ paid your sin debt when He died on the cross. But that's not all.

Christ Was Buried

This proves the certainty of Jesus' death. But did you notice all this happened, "according to the scriptures?" That means what you're reading right now is not a man-made message. The death, burial, and resurrection of Christ is God's plan of salvation.

So, Jesus Christ literally died for your sins, was buried, but three days later...

He Arose From the Dead

Sound too good to be true? Well ask yourself this, if Jesus never rose from the dead what good was His crucifixion? If He never came out of the tomb then He would still be dead and unable to do anything for you or anybody else.

It would mean He was no different than every other religious man in history. He was born, lived a good life, taught some good things, attracted a following, and then died.

But 1 Corinthians 15:20 says, "But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept."

Wow! According to that verse, Jesus Christ transcends death and His resurrection is the assurance that all who believe in Him will do the same. Jesus said it this way in John 5:24, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life," and in John 11:25, "I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live."

Everlasting Life

Did you hear what Jesus said? He said that all who, "believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life." Isn't that fantastic news?!

Do you possess everlasting life? If not, would you like to possess it? Well, as a result of reading this short article you have heard God's Word regarding the matter of eternal life. However, merely hearing the truth is not enough. You must accept the truth in order to possess eternal life: "I declare unto you the gospel...which also ye received...By which also ye are saved" (1 Corinthians 15:1-2).

If you're ready to accept the gospel truth, you can tell God in a similar way one man in the Bible did: by humbly and sincerely asking, "God be merciful to me a sinner" (Luke 18:13).

If you just received Jesus Christ as your Saviour we would love to hear about your wonderful choice and also help you grow in your new relationship with Him.
